Original content

English translation

That traveler, in order to find fortune, Stayed the night in the house of a Bedouin. All of his children, both young and old, He found sharing the names of wild beasts, such as lion and wolf. Every single one of his servants, entirely, Had the name of sheep or lamb. He said to him, 'O commander of the Arabs, I am struck with wonder tonight by these names.' He replied, 'The children who are in my tribe Are prepared for conquering the enemy. The servants are for the sake of service, Incessantly occupied in the duty of hosting. A wolf or a lion is needed for conquering the enemy, So that they may be brave in slaying the foe. For service, a lamb or sheep is better, So that no one receives harm from their actions.'
