بود پیری به خطه خوارزم
همه جا ظلمجو چه بزم و چه رزم

در پی گام ها چه صبح و چه شام
به شریعت روی همی زد گام

چار زن داشت لیک چون به نکاح
زن فزون از چهار نیست مباح

هر کجا دختر مسلمانی
پس ستر عفاف پنهانی

در کمند هوایش افتادی
چند زن پیش او فرستادی

تا کشیدندیش به خاک و به خون
وآوریدندیش ز پرده برون

به حرمگاه میر بردندی
به حرمدار وی سپردندی

میر چون آمدی به گاه نشاط
گستریدی به بزمگاه بساط

دخترک را به پیش خود خواندی
کفرها بر زبان او راندی

تا چو کافر شدی ازان سخنان
بنده اش ساختی اسیر کنان

کردیش بی نکاح شرمنده
که نباشد نکاح بر بنده

چیست این کارهای بد فرجام
حیله های ائمه ایام

کردگارا به حق صاحب شرع
که بلند است ازو مناصب شرع

که رهان شرع را ز حیله گران
پرده آن گروه را بدران

English translation

There was a ruler in the land of Khwarazm, Seeker of oppression everywhere, in both feast and war. At every step he took, morning and night, He claimed to walk in accordance with the Sharia. He had four wives, but since in marriage It is not permissible to have more than four wives, Whenever a Muslim girl, Hidden behind the veil of chastity, Fell into the snare of his desire, He would send several women to her, To drag her through the dust and blood, And bring her out from behind the curtain. They would take her to the prince's harem, And hand her over to his harem-keeper. When the prince arrived at his hour of pleasure, He would spread the carpet in his place of celebration. He would call the young girl to his presence, And utter words of blasphemy on her tongue, So that when she became an infidel because of those words, He would make her his enslaved captive, Dishonoring her without marriage, Because marriage is not binding upon a slave. What are these evil-ending deeds, These tricks of the religious leaders of the age? O Creator! For the sake of the Lord of Sharia, Through whom the ranks of Sharia are made high, Deliver the Sharia from the tricksters, And rip away the veil of that group!
