Section 57 - The Tale of the Narrow Prison Being Spacious for Zulaykha in the Sight of Joseph, Peace Be Upon Him

Original content

English translation

When Joseph of Canaan sat in the prison, A breakdown came upon Zulaykha from separation. Her home and household became as narrow as a prison to her, And every night she directed her path toward the prison. Someone said to her: 'You are free from the brand of love, Having never tasted any fruit from the garden of love. How long, from this lovely garden-palace, Will you, like sinners, become a prison-dweller?' She said: 'To be far from the beauty of the Beloved, The expanse of the horizons is to me like the eye of an ant. But if I find a place with him in the eye of an ant, It is sweeter to me than a hundred garden-palaces.'
