چون ثمر دوحه عبدالعزیز
دولت دین شد شرف ملک نیز

قاعده عدل عمر تازه کرد
ملک و خلافت به یک اندازه کرد

کوه نشینان که ز ظلم سپاه
خاسته بودند ز سرهای راه

پویه کنان بر سر راه آمدند
بهر خبر پرسی شاه آمدند

کان شه پیشین ستمگر چه شد
حال وی ازگردش اختر چه شد

وین شه عادل دل فیروز روز
کیست که شد نیر عالم فروز

رهسپری گفت چه سان یافتید
این خبر خیر که بشتافتید

مژده رساندند که بودی دلیر
بر رمه زین پیش بسی گرگ و شیر

بر رمه از گرگ دلیری نماند
شیر به خونخواری شیری نماند

بره و گرگند به هم گشته رام
آهو و شیرند به هم در خرام

این همه از دولت این خسرو است
کز قدمش رسم عدالت نو است

آن ز خساست صفت گرگ داشت
بر سر ما گرگ دگر می گماشت

وین ز کرم چون به بزرگی رسید
گرگ ز سر کسوت گرگی کشید

هست درین مرحله خرد و بزرگ
با دهن یوسف و دندان گرگ

گرچه بود خوش لب خندانشان
جامی و صد زخم ز دندانشان

English translation

When the fruit of the tree of Abd al-Aziz Became the fortune of faith and the honor of the kingdom as well, Umar renewed the rule of justice, Making the realm and the caliphate equal in measure. The mountain-dwellers, who due to the army's oppression Had fled from the main pathways, Came running back to the highway, In order to ask for news about the king, Asking, 'What became of that former tyrannical king? How did his state turn out through the rotation of the stars? And who is this just, victorious king of today, Who has become the world-illuminating luminary?' A traveler asked, 'How did you receive This glad tidings that made you hasten hither?' They said, 'Glad tidings were brought that whereas before, Many a wolf and lion were bold against the flock, No boldness remains in the wolf against the flock, And the lion no longer behaves like a bloodthirsty predator. The lamb and the wolf have become reconciled with one another, And the deer and the lion stroll together. All this is due to the reign of this monarch, By whose footsteps the custom of justice is renewed. The former king, out of baseness, had the nature of a wolf, And would set another wolf over us as our master. But this one, when through generosity he attained greatness, Stripped the wolf's garment off the wolf's head.' In this stage of existence, both young and old Have the mouth of Joseph but the teeth of a wolf. Though their smiling lips appear sweet, O Jami, they inflict a hundred wounds with their teeth.
