بخش ۴۱ - حکایت زلیخا که بر همه اطراف منزل خود تصویر جمال خود کرد تا یوسف به هر طرف نگرد صورت وی بیند به وی میل کند / Section 41 - The Tale of Zulaykha Portraying Her Own Beauty on All Sides of Her House so That Whichever Way Joseph Looked, He Would See Her Face and Incline Toward Her

Original content

English translation

See Zulaykha, whose soul was full of hope, She built a palace as white as a Sufi's heart. There was no pattern or color within it, Nor any speck of darkness like a rusty mirror. She then called for a master painter, Who painted her portrait in every corner. No spot was left vacant of her image; Happily she sat and summoned Joseph. She cast the veil aside from her beautiful face, And began to tell of her heart's desire. But when Joseph turned his face from her words, Whichever way he turned, he saw her portrait. Beholding her image time and again, An inclination arose in him to unite with her. He was on the verge of granting her wish, And placing the sugar of fulfillment in her mouth. But a proof from the Unseen appeared to him, And divine chastity quickly rescued him. He withheld his hand from her, unfulfilled, And left the ultimate triumph for its proper time.
