سبحة الابرار / Subhat al-Abrar (Rosary of the Pious)

سبحة الابرار (Subhat al-Abrar, the Rosary of the Pious) is the fourth of the seven poems in Jami's Haft Awrang. It is a didactic masnavi organized into forty 'knots' (عقد / 'iqd), each devoted to a Sufi station or ethical virtue — including asceticism (زهد), contentment (رضا), yearning (شوق), spiritual zeal (غیرت), devotion/irada (ارادت), and sincerity (اخلاص) — and interspersed with supplications (مناجات). Every knot pairs direct admonition to the wayfarer with illustrative anecdotes, mapping the progressive stages of the mystical path. Understanding this work as the container of the individual knots is a prerequisite to placing any single section (بخش/عقد) in its proper structural and thematic order.
