سبحة الابرار / Subhat al-Abrar (The Rosary of the Pious)

Subhat al-Abrar (The Rosary of the Pious) is the fourth of the seven masnavi poems that make up Jami's Haft Awrang. It is a didactic Sufi work organized as a string of numbered 'knots' (عقد), each beads of a rosary, and each knot expounds a spiritual station or virtue, for example Sufism, asceticism (zuhd), patience (sabr), gratitude (shukr), fear (khawf), and contentment (rida). Every knot blends discursive exposition of its station with illustrative tales and supplications, guiding the seeker along the mystical path. The individual numbered sections that treat these stations are the constituent parts of this single work, which itself sits within the larger Haft Awrang collection.
