یوسف و زلیخا / Yusof o Zoleykha (Joseph and Zuleikha)

یوسف و زلیخا / Yusof o Zoleykha is the fifth of the seven narrative poems (masnavis) that comprise Jami's Haft Awrang. Completed in 1483, it reworks the Quranic story of Joseph (Yusof) and Zuleikha into a Sufi allegory in which human love for beauty becomes a stage on the path toward love of the divine. The work opens with a sequence of discourses praising the virtue of love before the narrative proper begins, and it is internally organized into numbered sections (bakhsh). Individual sections, such as the discourse on the virtue of love, are subsections of this work rather than of the whole anthology.
