یوسف و زلیخا / Yusuf and Zulaykha (Jami)

Yusuf and Zulaykha

یوسف و زلیخا is the fifth of the seven narrative masnavis that make up Jami's Haft Awrang (the Seven Thrones). It retells the Quranic and Biblical story of the prophet Joseph (Yusuf) and Zulaykha as an allegory of divine and human love, unfolding across many numbered sections (بخش‌ها) that follow Joseph from his father's household, through the envy of his brothers, the well, Egypt, and his encounter with Zulaykha.

This node is the intermediate literary work that groups the individual sections (for example, Section 29 onward) beneath the larger Haft Awrang collection. A learner should understand which masnavi within Haft Awrang a given section belongs to before studying the section itself, so the reading path is: Haft AwrangYusuf and Zulaykha → individual section.
