یوسف و زلیخا / Yusuf and Zulaykha

Yusuf and Zulaykha

یوسف و زلیخا (Yusuf and Zulaykha) is the fifth of the seven masnavis that make up Jami's Haft Awrang (Seven Thrones), by the 15th-century Persian poet Abd al-Rahman Jami. It recasts the Quranic and Biblical story of Yusuf (Joseph) and Zulaykha (Potiphar's wife) as a Sufi allegory in which earthly passion becomes a ladder toward love of the Divine. Like Jami's other narratives, it opens with a sequence of supplications (مناجات) and doxologies before the story proper, and its text is organized into numbered sections (بخش). This node is the work-level container that groups those sections beneath the Haft Awrang collection.
