یوسف و زلیخا / Yusuf u Zulaykha (Joseph and Zulaykha) — Fifth Masnavi of Jami's Haft Awrang

یوسف و زلیخا (Yusuf u Zulaykha) is the fifth of the seven narrative poems (masnavis) that make up Jami's Haft Awrang. Composed in couplet (masnavi) form, it retells the Quranic and folkloric story of the Prophet Joseph and Zulaykha as an allegory of the soul's love ascending from earthly passion to divine love.

The poem is organized into numbered sections (بخش / bakhsh) that follow the narrative in sequence — from Zulaykha's first dream-vision of Joseph, through her longing, separation, and blindness, to her final reunion and spiritual transformation. Each individual bakhsh (such as Section 44, in which the nurse asks Zulaykha the cause of her burning) is a subsection of this single work.

To learn any one section in its proper context, a reader first needs to know that it belongs to this specific masnavi rather than to the whole seven-part collection.
