بخش ۱۶ - اشارت به حال جماعتی که شراب عشق از جام صورت خورده اند و پی اصلا به جمال معنی نبرده اند / Section 16 - Allusion to the State of a Group Who Have Drunk the Wine of Love from the Cup of Form and Have Not Found Their Way at All to the Beauty of Meaning

Original content

English translation

That one, due to the intricate veil, Sees nothing other than form. The beauty of form leads him astray, His heart never becoming aware of its meaning. The people of the world are all in this state, Captives to the veil of forms. Yet, due to the diversity of forms, Each has their face turned toward a different direction of devotion. In their eyes, from extreme ignorance and blindness, Form is not distinguished from meaning. They do not know the husk from the kernel; Feeding on husks is their habit, like beasts. When their eyes are kept far from outward forms, Their hearts and souls become afflicted with grief.
