بعد حمد خدا و نعت رسول
بشنو این نکته را به سمع قبول

که نخستین فریضه بر عاقل
عاقلی کز بلوغ شد کامل

نیست بیرون از اینکه بپذیرد
در دل و جان خویشتن گیرد

بعد ازان بی تردد و انکار
به زبان هم زند دم اقرار

کافریننده ایست آدم را
بلکه ذرات جمله عالم را

کز عدمشان ره وجود نمود
جاودان هست و بود و خواهد بود

هست بی تهمت شمار یکی
نیست اندر یگانگیش شکی

کرد بعث محمد عربی
تا بود خلق را رسول و نبی

هر که ثابت شود به قول ثقات
که محمد علیه الف صلات

داد ما را خبر به موجب آن
واجب آید به آن ز ما ایمان

این بود مجمل سخن بی قیل
شرح آن گوش کن علی التفصیل

English translation

After praising God and eulogizing the Messenger, hear this point with an accepting ear: That the first obligation upon a rational person, a rational person whose intellect is made complete by maturity, Is none other than to accept, and to take into his own heart and soul, And after that, without hesitation or denial, also to declare the profession with his tongue: That there is a Creator for Adam, indeed, for all the particles of the universe, Who showed them the path of existence from non-existence; He eternally exists, was, and will be. He is One, free from the accusation of number, there is no doubt in His oneness. He raised Muhammad, the Arab, to be a messenger and prophet to the creation. For whomever it is proven by the testimony of trustworthy narrators that Muhammad—upon him be a thousand blessings— informed us, in accordance with that, faith in it becomes obligatory upon us.
