English translation

Under the curve of this high-founded dome, what is the occupation of the grateful one who recognizes the Benefactor? To remain established in the state of gratitude for the graces of the generous Lord of the world. Especially that grace whose command is all-encompassing, and that is the existence of the just king. The just king is none other than the shadow of God; the shadow of God is the refuge for the creation. Whatever adornment a person's essence has bound, in the view of the wise, its likeness exists in the shadow. Therefore, the shadow is the very essence of the owner of the shadow; beware, beware, lest you look upon the shadow with contempt! The shadow is the reflection of the essence of the owner of the shadow, and it is rich in the attributes of His essence. Whatever attributes are hidden in His essence become manifest in all directions through the shadow. From the majesty of victorious kings, the divine glory becomes manifest. And if you need a witness for this claim, go and look at the king who is the refuge of the world: A sovereign whose left hand is a mine of wealth and right hand a sea of generosity, the realm of Jamshid's kingdom is under his signet ring; King Ya'qub, that ruler of the world, whose height makes the summit of the heavens seem low. The kingdom of existence is the expanse of his arena, the sphere of heaven is a ball in the curve of his polo-mallet. The crescent moon kisses the dust of his steed's horseshoe; the bent back of the moon is proof of this. Upon this dome secure from harm, his status became high from this kissing of the dust. His hand renewed the custom of generosity, and made Hatim's munificence famous. His name is the preface to the book of justice, his judgment is the measured scale of justice. The light of his justice, in the dark chamber of non-existence, has imprisoned the darkness of tyranny and oppression. He became famous in the world for his beautiful character; this beautiful character is his inheritance. His father drove his caravan to the Abode of Eternity, and this beautiful character remained as a legacy from him. A leg of his throne is the blue sky; crown-wearers prostrate before his throne. Before his throne, no one turned his head away from prostration; whoever turned away did not find a head. Sovereignty is to make one's head the dust of his path; honor is to bring one's face to his path. Whosoever's head became dust in his path, his dust became the crown of the heavens. Whosoever was given honor by the dust of his door, all other honors became like stream water in his eyes. I wish to sing his praises for years, and find fortunes from praising him. But I cut short this chapter, and make brief this prolixity. The disc of the sun has risen from the horizon, and the world benefits from its radiance. It is not within the limit of a helpless speck of dust to become a singer of his praises. To sing his praises is not within the limit of everyone; I mentioned his name, and that alone is praise enough for him.
