Section 3 - On His Unity, Glorified and Exalted Be He

Original content

English translation

He is One in His own essence, and Single, A Unity far beyond counting and number. Whoever beholds His Unity Is freed from number and that which is numbered. The sanctuary of His grandeur is too pure For anyone to imagine association (with Him). An equal to Him found no path to possibility; Its place became the narrow straits of impossibility. If God were more than One, How could the world remain under this law? The door of the bounty of existence would be closed, And the warp and weft of survival would be torn apart. The entire universe would turn to nothingness together, Nay, it would never have emerged from non-existence. He who has a share of intellect knows That if two kings share a single city, The thread of the community falls into disorder, And disruption breaches the affairs of both elite and commoners.
