گر تو گویی که شیخ دین ز چه رو
لفظ ایشان وظیفه ساخت نه او
گویمت زانکه لفظ او مطلق
هست اشارت سوی هویت حق
پیش چشم شهود دیده وران
محو باشد هویت دگران
در عبارت چو او و هو رانند
غرض از او و هو همو دانند
نیست مشهود جز هویت او
لا هو فی الوجود الاهو
وان هویت که واحد است و احد
برتر از وهم کثرت است و عدد
لیک چون در عدد شود ساری
رو نماید تعددی طاری
به تک و پو چو مرد وحدت جوی
از تعدد نهد به وحدت روی
سر وحدت بر او شود غالب
وصف کثرت ازو شود غایب
چون شود دور کثرتش ز نظر
لفظ ایشان به آن بود در خور
English translation
If you ask why the Sheikh of Religion made the word 'They' his custom, and not 'He',
I tell you it is because the word 'He', in its absolute sense, is an allusion toward the Divine Identity of the Truth.
Before the witnessing eyes of the insightful, the identity of others is completely annihilated.
When they utter 'He' and 'He' in speech, they know the intent of 'He' and 'He' to be Him alone.
Nothing is witnessed except His Identity; there is no 'He' in existence but He.
And that Identity, which is Single and One, is far above the illusion of multiplicity and number.
Yet when It flows into numbers, an accidental multiplicity shows its face.
Through striving and searching, when the seeker of unity turns away from multiplicity toward unity,
The secret of unity becomes dominant over him, and the description of multiplicity disappears from his view.
When multiplicity is removed from his sight, the word 'They' becomes appropriate for him.
