ور تو گویی که کاملان بسیار
ما و من آورند در گفتار

بی شک ایشان بسی شتافته اند
وز من و ما خلاص یافته اند

ما و من بر زبان چرا رانند
غرض از ما و من که را دانند

گویم آن کس که شد ز خویش خلاص
شد به سر شهود وحدت خاص

غیر مشهود خود نداند هیچ
غیر ازان بر زبان نراند هیچ

نشود زانش ما و من مانع
هر چه گوید بر آن شود واقع

من چو گوید مرادش از من اوست
اوست چون مغز و لفظ ها همه پوست

بلکه حق بر زبان او گویاست
نطق حق از زبان او پیداست

متکلم ز خود چو گوید راز
جز من و ما دگر چه گوید باز

قایل من چو نیست جز ذوالمن
غیر ذوالمن کجا بود آن من

قطره چون بحر ساخت ناچیزش
که تواند ز بحر تمییزش

به من و ما اگر شود گویا
من و مایش بود همان دریا

گرچه آرد هزار طوفان زور
نفتدش در شهود بحر فتور

English translation

And if you say that many perfected ones Bring 'we' and 'I' into their speech— Undoubtedly they have hastened far, And have found liberation from 'I' and 'we'. Why then do they utter 'we' and 'I' on their tongue? Whom do they mean by 'we' and 'I'? I say: the one who became liberated from self, Has arrived at the secret of the vision of exclusive Unity. He knows nothing other than his Witnessed, And utters nothing upon his tongue other than That. 'We' and 'I' do not become a barrier to him; Whatever he says is realized upon That. When he says 'I', his meaning of 'I' is Him; He is like the kernel, and the words are all the shell. Rather, the Truth speaks upon his tongue; The speech of Truth is manifest through his tongue. When the Speaker declares the secret from Himself, What else can He say besides 'I' and 'we'? Since there is no speaker of 'I' except the Lord of Grace, Where else would that 'I' be but the Lord of Grace? When the ocean made the drop non-existent, Who can distinguish it from the ocean? If it should speak of 'I' and 'we', Its 'I' and 'we' would be that very ocean. Though it brings the force of a thousand storms, No weakness falls upon its vision of the ocean.
