Section 120 - Supplication on the Transition from Advising the Subjects to the Will of the Son

Original content

English translation

O You, through Whom the people of insight are made sharp-sighted, Your work is beyond the rules of ordinary justice. The ultimate end of Your work cannot be known, The depth of Your secrets cannot be comprehended. However much we cooked up desire on this fine point, Only this much has been known of You and no more: That whatever comes from Your door in all matters, Is the essence of wisdom and absolute correctness. Its reason, however, is not made manifest, Nor does it become clear except by Your determination. The station of the dark-hearted is debased by You, Wherever there is any light, it comes from You. Bestow light upon the heart of Jami, Settle the dust of Jami's body of water and clay. With that light, make his heart a luminous candle, With this breath, make him a breeder of sweet fragrance, So that from that light, guidance may pour forth, And from this breath, the scent of grace may scatter, Upon his worthy companions, Especially upon the apple of his eye.
