Section 123 - Supplication on the Transition from the Testament to the Son to the Counseling of One's Own Soul

Original content

English translation

O Desire of the hearts of those who are solitary, O Companion of the solitude of those who are united, The source of Your companionship is solitude, The shadow of Your unity is oneness. Blessed is he who made peace with solitude, And galloped his steed in the realm of oneness, Drew the kohl of Your witnessing over his eyes, And once he saw You, saw nothing else. He knows none other than You as the goal, Nay, he does not even call anyone else existent. If he desires, he desires only from Your threshold, And if he diminishes, he diminishes only from sorrow for You. From union with You is his pillow, And from separation from You is his lamentation fitting. The state of your Jami is well known, How strangely deprived he is of what has been spoken! Open the eye of favor toward him, And turn his face away from all creation, So that he may attend to his own deprivation, And make peace with counseling himself.
