Section 87 - Supplication on Transitioning from Truthfulness (Sidq) to Devotion (Ikhlas)

Original content

English translation

O You by whose light the banner of the white dawn is raised, For the truthful, the morning of hope is sweet through You. Like the dawn, we are distinguished by truthfulness through You, Since eternity, we have breathed nothing but Your love. How long must we tear the garment of the soul, And raise the banner of truthfulness to the heavens? Shedding stars of tears like the revolving sky, And mixing our tears with blood like the twilight. Cast a ray of love into our hearts, So that our breath may be illuminated by it. Lead us to such enlightened breath, That we may bring the unworthy to the stations of the worthy. In the struggle with his miserable self, Jami is complaining of his own worthlessness. Do not leave him behind the swift wayfarers, Deliver him from his self-importance and insignificance. Though he has traversed the path of error, Through deeds polluted by hypocrisy, Grant him purity to escape from hypocrisy, And make him a knocker at the door of devotion.
