چون سلیمان کرد با چندان کمال
پیش موری لنگ از عجز آن سؤال

گفت برگوی ای ز من آغشته تر
تا کدامین گل به غم بسرشته تر

داد آن ساعت جوابش مور لنگ
گفت خشت واپسین در گور تنگ

واپسین خشتی که پیوندد به خاک
منقطع گردد همه اومید پاک

چون مرا در زیر خاک ای پاک ذات
منقطع گردد امید از کاینات

پس بپوشد خشت آخر روی من
تو مگردان روی فضل از سوی من

چون به خاک آرم سرگشته روی
هیچ با رویم میار از هیچ سوی

روی آن دارد کزان چندان گناه
هیچ با رویم نیاری ای اله

تو کریم مطلقی ای کردگار
عفو کن از هرچ رفت و در گذار

English translation

When Solomon, with all his perfection, In helplessness asked that question of a lame ant, He said, "Speak, O you who are more steeped in trouble than I, Which clay is more kneaded with grief?" At that moment, the lame ant answered him, Saying, "The final brick in the narrow grave. The final brick that joins the dust, Whereby all pure hope is cut off. Since for me under the dust, O Pure Essence, Hope is cut off from all creation, And then the final brick covers my face, Turn not Your face of grace away from me. When I bring my bewildered face to the dust, Bring nothing against my face from any direction. It is fitting that after all those sins, You bring nothing against my face, O God. You are the absolute Generous One, O Creator, Forgive all that has passed and overlook it."
