Book Six - Section 8 - On the General Interpretation of This Verse: 'Whenever They Kindle a Fire for War'

Original content

English translation

Whenever they kindle the fire of war, God extinguishes their fire until it is put out. He has resolved, 'O heart, do not stay there!' He has become forgetful, since he is not of the people of resolve. Since he had not planted a seed of sincerity, Truth (God) has appointed forgetfulness over that. Although he strikes the fire-steel of his heart, The hand of Truth extinguishes its spark.
