English translation

A watchman fell asleep and a thief carried off the goods, He pressed the baggage beneath the earth. It became day, that caravan awoke, And saw the goods, silver, and camels gone. Then they said to him, 'O watchman, tell us, What happened to the goods and where is the baggage?' He said, 'Thieves came wearing masks, They swiftly took the goods from before me.' The people said to him, 'O you who are like a mound of sand, Then what were you doing? Who are you, O worthless man?' He said, 'I was but one person, and they were a group, Armed, courageous, and formidable.' They said, 'If you had little hope in a fight, You could have raised a cry, 'O noble ones, jump up!'' He said, 'At that moment they showed knives and swords, Saying, 'Keep quiet, or we will kill you without hesitation!' At that time, out of fear, I closed my mouth; At this time, [I offer] shouts, cries, and lamentations! At that time, they stopped my breath so I could not breathe; At this time, I will shout as much as you want!' Since the disgracing demon has stolen your life, Saying 'I seek refuge' and the 'Fatihah' is tasteless. Although sighing is tasteless now, Negligence is certainly more tasteless than that. Even so, continue to lament, even if it is tasteless, [Saying,] 'Look upon the abased, O Dear One!' You are the Powerful One, whether it is late or on time; When was anything ever missed by You, O God? The King who says, 'Grieve not for what has escaped you' (Quran 57:23), How can the desired object ever be lost from His power?
