English translation

Mu'tamar said to him from a pure heart: 'O Uyaynah, do not be sorrowful, For whatever kingdom and wealth I hold in my hand, Though they are instruments of glory and honor, I will spend them all on you today, So that you may triumph in your desire.' Compassionately, he took his hand, And led him straight to the assembly of the Ansar. He said to them, after greeting: 'O loyal ones in the realm of purity, Who is this young man among you? What is your opinion of him?' They all said, 'With a beautiful lineage, He is a shining candle of the Arab lineage.' He said, 'He has fallen into an affliction, He has fallen into the snare of a desire. I expect assistance from you, And help out of your mercy, To choose a journey for his beloved, And pass by the land of Bani Sulaym.' They all said, 'We hear and obey,' Wholeheartedly seeking to please Mu'tamar. They mounted noble camels, And set off towards that land. They crossed mountains and deserts, Asking again and again for Raya's homeland, Until they found their way to her dwelling, And informed her father of their arrival. He welcomed them happily and cheerfully, And told his companions to quickly Spread exquisite carpets, And lay out magnificent leather mats. He seated everyone in their proper place, And showered pearls of praise upon them. Whatever sheep and cattle were present, He slaughtered, cooked, and served before all. Mu'tamar said, 'O beauty of the Arabs, All your deeds are in perfect courtesy. No one shall eat from your table and spread, Until, from the ocean of your bounty and kindness, You fulfill everyone's need, And grant everyone's desire.' He said, 'O you whose faces are turned towards truth, What is your desire from this servant?' He said, 'It is that the pearl of your oyster shell, The star of your tower of glory and honor, With Uyaynah, who is the pride of the Ansar, Good-deeded and truthful-spoken, Should become the pearl of the thread of union, And become the confidant of the night of union.' He said, 'The management of her affairs belongs to her, And in this matter, the choice is hers. I will speak of this with her from the beginning, And whatever she says, I will bring back to the assembly.'
