English translation

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate This is an invitation to the table of the Generous One. Listen, O ear, to the legend of love, To the song of love from the creaking of the pen. The pen is now like a reed flute with its shrill sound, Recounting the tale of love. Love is the key to the treasury of generosity; Everything you see exists through love. No species, whether lowly or exalted, Is devoid of love and its command. When the Truth (God) manifested Himself to Himself, He found Himself unique in that self-manifestation. He beheld an Essence endowed with attributes of perfection, Characterized within the sanctuary of might and majesty. Attributes that are forever inseparable from the Essence, Deriving from Him their permanence and stability. Whatever bears the mark of any name other than Him, Has no share in being characterized by those attributes, Such as the necessity of existence and the sanctity of eternity, And independence from both the universe and humankind. The one who possesses a share of knowledge and wisdom Names this the 'essential perfection.' Yet within that, another perfection He saw, which depended on the manifestation of effects. To the possessors of intellect and wisdom, The name of that perfection is the 'perfection of the Names.' And that is the manifestation of the Truth in various modes, Differing in their characteristics and effects. Thus, the witnessing of the evolutions of this manifestation, Wherein He has awareness and presence, And this manifestation and witnessing, the wise Consider as 'Jala' (effulgence) and 'Istijla' (self-beholding). Entering into forms is the perfection of 'Jala'; Beholding that perfection is 'Istijla'. When the Truth beheld the beauty of the Names' perfection, He did not wish it to remain hidden like that. He desired to make that perfection manifest, And to display that beauty and majesty. He wished that in the mirrors of the archetypes, His hidden secret should become visible. When this desire was prompted by the Truth, The tumult of love and loverhood arose. Love joined existence with non-existence, And from that love, non-existence took on the form of existence. When non-existence received the effusion of the light of existence, It turned its face of aspiration toward its source. Between the shadow and the sun, The relationship of love's attraction became firmly established.
