English translation
O You, in comparison to Whom the banner of our existence is low, Nothing exists of itself; everything that exists, exists through You. Your Essence is both Existence and the Bringer into existence, The Creator of the world, both new and old. You are the Existent, You are Absolute Existence, The Existent whose existence is the Truth is You. Whatever is not True Existence in this metaphorical abode, Surely has need of Existence to exist. That which is not needy of anyone is Existence itself; Because of this, It has supremacy over all. You have no name or sign, yet sweeping Your skirt, You pass over all names and signs. Low and high benefit from Your generosity; The relation of low and high is one and the same to You. Mixed with all things like the soul in the body, Yet pure from the defilement of the impure and the pure. The eye of the anthropomorphist is blind to Your beauty; The intellect of the transcendentalist is far from Your perfection. When the camel of transcendence was left alone, It set foot from the inhabited land into the desert. When the camel-driver of immanence drove the litter, He went into the inhabited land and remained stuck in the mud. O You, from Whom are both the inhabited land and the desert; Your Being is both without all and with all. In You, these two attributes exist only together, As they do not encroach upon each other. Your immanence arises from Your transcendence; There is no ultimate end to Your transcendence but this. You are a simple light, and there is no dust upon You; You are an all-encompassing ocean, with no shore. You have no shore, yet a hundred thousand of Your pearls, Thrown by the waves, land upon the shore. It was Your wave that became manifest, In itself and upon itself in thousands of forms. Whatever secret was in the veil of Your Essence, Showed its face in the mirror of Your Knowledge. Their forms became reflections of the Essence; The Essence, through the repetition of forms, became multiple essences. The assembly of gathering is the entire world, And the splendor of that assembly is from Adam. In Your presence, who is Adam and what is the world? There is no sign of other than You except a name. Though many seem to be other than You, There is no one in this arena except You. Who is there so manifest as You in the world, Yet remains hidden because of their own manifestation? You are present everywhere, while I, here and there, Struggle and flounder in Your domain. When I fall, take my hand; You are my Helper, and to You is the return.
