Section 7 - Answer

Original content

English translation

Thinking upon the blessings is a condition of the path, But upon the Essence of Truth, it is sheer sin. Thought regarding the Essence of Truth is vain, Consider it a sheer impossibility, obtaining what is obtained. Since the signs are illuminated by the Essence, His Essence does not become illuminated by the signs. The whole universe is manifest through His light, How could He become apparent from the universe? The light of the Essence does not fit within manifestations, For the splendors of His majesty are overwhelming. Let go of intellect, and be with the Truth, For the bat's eye cannot bear the light of the sun. In that place where the light of Truth is the guide, What room is there for Gabriel's speech? Though the angel has proximity to the court, It cannot fit in the station of 'I am with God'. When His light burns the wings of the angel, It completely burns the head and feet of the intellect. The light of the intellect within the most luminous Essence, Is like the physical eye in the fountain of the sun. When the object of sight comes close in view, The sight becomes dark from perceiving it. Blackness, if you know, is the light of the Essence, Within the darkness is the Water of Life. Blackness is naught but the seizer of the light of sight, Abandon looking, for this is not the place for looking. What relation does dust have with the pure realm? For perception is the inability to perceive perception. The black-facedness of the contingent being in both worlds, Was never separated, and God knows best. The blackness of the face in both worlds for the dervish, Has become the greatest mass, without more or less. What am I saying? For this point is subtle, A bright night in the midst of a dark day. In this place of witnessing where the lights of manifestation are, I have words, but it is better not to say them.
