اگرچه خور به چرخ چارمین است
شعاعش نور و تدبیر زمین است

طبیعت های عنصر نزد خور نیست
کواکب گرم و سرد و خشک و تر نیست

عناصر جمله از وی گرم و سرد است
سپید و سرخ و سبز و آل و زرد است

بود حکمش روان چون شاه عادل
که نه خارج توان گفتن نه داخل

چو از تعدیل شد ارکان موافق
ز حسنش نفس گویا گشت عاشق

نکاح معنوی افتاد در دین
جهان را نفس کلی داد کابین

از ایشان می پدید آمد فصاحت
علوم و نطق و اخلاق و صباحت

ملاحت از جهان بی مثالی
درآمد همچو رند لاابالی

به شهرستان نیکویی علم زد
همه ترتیب عالم را به هم زد

گهی بر رخش حسن او شهسوار است
گهی با نطق تیغ آبدار است

چو در شخص است خوانندش ملاحت
چو در لفظ است گویندش بلاغت

ولی و شاه و درویش و توانگر
همه در تحت حکم او مسخر

درون حسن روی نیکوان چیست
نه آن حسن است تنها گویی آن چیست

جز از حق می نیاید دلربایی
که شرکت نیست کس را در خدایی

کجا شهوت دل مردم رباید
که حق گه گه ز باطل می نماید

مؤثر حق شناس اندر همه جای
ز حد خویشتن بیرون منه پای

حق اندر کسوت حق بین و حق دان
حق اندر باطل آمد کار شیطان

English translation

Although the sun is in the fourth sphere, Its rays are the light and regulation of the earth. The natures of the elements do not exist in the sun, The stars are not hot, cold, dry, or wet. Yet all the elements are made hot or cold by it, White, red, green, scarlet, and yellow. Its command runs like a just king, Of whom one can say neither 'outside' nor 'inside'. When the pillars became harmonious through equilibrium, The rational soul fell in love with its beauty. A spiritual marriage took place in faith, The Universal Soul gave the dowry to the world. From them appeared eloquence, Sciences, speech, morality, and beauty. Grace entered from the world of no-likeness, Like a carefree libertine. It raised its banner in the city of goodness, It threw the entire order of the world into confusion. Sometimes it rides the steed of its beauty, Sometimes it is a sharp sword with speech. When it is in a person, they call it grace, When it is in words, they call it eloquence. Saint, king, dervish, and wealthy, Are all subjugated under its command. What is within the beauty of the faces of the beautiful? It is not merely that beauty, you ask: what is it? None but the Truth (God) can capture the heart, For there is no partnership in Divinity. How could lust steal the hearts of people? For the Truth shows itself at times through falsehood. Recognize the True Agent in all places, Do not step beyond your own limit. See the Truth in the garb of Truth and know it as Truth; To see the Truth in falsehood is the work of Satan.
