از آن گلشن گرفتم شمه ای باز
نهادم نام او را گلشن راز

در او راز دل گلها شکفته است
که تا اکنون کسی دیگر نگفته است

زبان سوسن او جمله گویاست
عیون نرگس او جمله بیناست

تامل کن به چشم دل یکایک
که تا برخیزد از پیش تو این شک

ببین منقول و معقول و حقایق
مصفا کرده در علم دقایق

به چشم منکری منگر در او خوار
که گلها گردد اندر چشم تو خار

نشان ناشناسی ناسپاسی است
شناسایی حق در حق شناسی است

غرض زین جمله آن کز ما کند یاد
عزیزی گویدم رحمت بر او باد

به نام خویش کردم ختم و پایان
الهی عاقبت محمود گردان

English translation

From that garden I took a scent again, I named it the Rose Garden of Mystery. In it, the secret of the heart of flowers has bloomed, Which until now no one else has told. The tongue of its lily is entirely speaking, The eyes of its narcissus are all-seeing. Contemplate with the eye of the heart one by one, So that this doubt may be removed from before you. See the traditional, the rational, and the spiritual truths, Purified in the science of subtleties. Do not look at it with a denying eye in contempt, Lest the flowers turn into thorns in your eye. The sign of ignorance is ingratitude, Knowing the Truth lies in appreciating the Truth. The purpose of all this is that someone may remember us, A dear one may say of me, 'May God's mercy be upon him.' With my own name I brought it to a close and end, O Lord, make the end Mahmud!
