Section 6 - On the Parable

Original content

English translation

One morning, the joyous king Gave food to the wretched Bahlool. He gave it all to a dog so the dog would eat it. Someone said to him, "Who has ever done such a thing? Have you no awareness of such a king, That you give his food to dogs? To show such disrespect is a mistake; A disrespectful act never turns out right." Bahlool said to him, "Silence, oh you who are entirely superficial! If the dogs knew that this is his, They wouldn't turn their heads toward it even for a stone; God knows, out of shame they wouldn't eat it!"
