English translation
The spiritual traveler came before the burden-bearing earth, He said, "O lowly and sorrow-bearing one, Wherever there is a secret in both worlds, If you bring it out, you have it hidden within. You have been the dough in the hand of Divine power, You have been the carrier of the secrets of creation. Since of the four elements, one pillar rightly belongs to you, If I seek the essence of that pillar from you, it is fitting. Even though you bear burden and pain on the outside, Yet you carry the burden of treasure within. In your embrace, I see a hundred thousand treasures, Bring forth what you hold in your embrace. Whoever has a treasure, especially a rare one, How can he leave others without a share? Since you know that I am a seeker of secrets, Tell me the secret of your treasure. Open a door to my intoxicated heart, Show me a path to my goal." When the dust of the road became aware of these words, It became empty-handed like the dust of the road. It said, "After all, who am I in the world, That I should have a secret, open or hidden? I have nothing but frozenness (lifelessness), Nothing is endowed to me but death. Destiny opened its hand upon my nature, Then it brought my garment and tied it to a bull. First, they picked me up from the dust of the road, Then they considered me lowly like dust. I am so frozen out of hopelessness, Sleeping in the dust and having consumed dust. When they make the bull my enemy, They put everything into my harvest. I have a burden on my body like a mountain, Every moment I associate with a group. Even though I became particle by particle underfoot, I didn't see a speck of its circulation anywhere. Day and night I am frozen from this pain, I do not know if I am alive or dead. What happened to me of oppression and corruption, In exchange they will seek my return from disgrace. I am in a very dangerous predicament because of this, Dust upon my head, I am upon the dust because of this. They place all the dead within me, They put a golden lid on death. I am unaware among the dead, When will I have any trace of life? When will you find life from a dead heart? Leave me, for I have no yield." The traveler came before the pure-born elder, He explained his condition to the elder. The elder said to him, "The burden-bearing earth is The world of forbearance and the universe of good nature. If you endure like the earth, In both worlds you are pure like water. If you endure a tiny speck, You will shine like the sun. Whoever makes forbearance a hair's breadth of his nature, The musk of his character will fill the world with fragrance."
