English translation

The seeker came before the fire, bewildered, A fire from his heart had set his harvest ablaze. He said, "O exalted one of Martian nature, Hot-paced, quick-burning, and fast-charging. Both meteor and lightning are your traces, Going hotly and being hot is your work. The stoning of the devil and the devil are both from you, Oh wonder, both pain and remedy are from you. You are the giver of life to the animal spirit, You are the host to the human soul. By the address of the Truth, you became the paradise of the soul, You became the basil for Abraham's garden. You have a way within stone and iron, By God, pure play in the world is yours. You turn firewood into a ruby of Badakhshan, You turn iron into a pomegranate-colored sapphire. You are the supreme element, and that is enough, You rub shoulders with the sky, and that is enough. Out of light-spiritedness, you are absolute levity, Whether you burn or whether you build, you are on the right. You put your head out of the green tree, You enchant the longing Moses. Moses found the way from afar through you, So show me a way worthy of me." From these words, a resurrection arose from the fire, A sharp fire fell into its heart. Water flowed from its eyes like a cloud, No patience remained for it on the fire. It said, "I have constantly been soul-burning, I have been a seeker of this door night and day. Always in fever and heat, scattering fire, I ask again for a sign of this truth. Since I burn whatever I get my hands on, You see me sitting on top of my ashes. I am on top of my ashes out of this sorrow, How can I lead another on the path? My work is only with heat and burning, And this is all my life, not just today. From heat, I left neither dry nor wet, Since I saw nothing, I gave up hope. You will find nothing from me, rise and go, Take another path and rise, O swift goer." The seeker came before the guiding elder, Told him his story from head to foot. The elder said to him, "The fire is greed and avarice, Which has stretched its work over the whole world. It has thrown everyone into the greed for gold, So that everyone has made an idol of gold. So much faith, so much soul they have lost, Just to throw a grain of gold in the middle."
