بر سر گوری مگر بهلول خفت
همچنان خفته از آنجا مینرفت

آن یکی گفتش که برخیز ای پسر
چند خواهی خفت اینجا بی خبر

گفت بهلولش که من آنگه روم
کاین همه سوگند از وی بشنوم

گفت چه سوگند با من باز گوی
گفت شد این مرده با من راز گوی

میخورد سوگند و میگوید براز
من نخواهم کرد خاک از خویش باز

تا همه خلق جهان را تن به تن
در نخوابانم بخون چون خویشتن

English translation

Bahlool happened to sleep upon a grave, He remained asleep and would not leave that place. Someone said to him, "Arise, O boy, How long will you sleep here unawares?" Bahlool said to him, "I will only leave, When I have heard all his oaths." He said, "What oath? Tell me." He said, "This dead one told me a secret. He swears an oath and says in secret, 'I will not throw off the earth from myself, Until all the people of the world, one by one, I lay to sleep in blood just like myself.'"
