در مصافی پادشاه حق شناس
یافت از خیل اسیران بی قیاس
با وزیر خویشتن گفت ای وزیر
چیست رای تو درین مشتی اسیر
گفت چون دادت خدای دادگر
آنچه بودت دوستر یعنی ظفر
آنچه آن حق دوستر دارد مدام
تو بکن آن نیز یعنی عفو عام
English translation
In a battle, a truth-recognizing king Obtained countless captives from the enemy host. He said to his vizier, 'O Vizier, What is your opinion regarding this handful of captives?' He said, 'Since the Just God has given you What was dearer to you, namely victory, Do that which God always loves more, Namely, a general amnesty.'
