آن حکیمی در تفکر میگذشت
دید سرگین دان و گورستان بدشت

نعرهٔ زد گفت ای نظارگان
اینت نعمت اینت نعمت خوارگان

ای عجب با این چنین نفسی درون
میکند هم در خدائی سر برون

زشتی عالم همه از خبث اوست
وآنگهی دارد خدائی نیز دوست

هست در هر نفس این دعوی ولیک
خویش بر فرعون ظاهر کرد نیک

English translation

A sage was walking by, immersed in thought, He saw a dunghill and a graveyard on a plain. He cried out and said, 'O onlookers! Here is the bounty, and here are the devourers of the bounty.' Oh, how strange! With such a carnal soul within, It even raises its head claiming godhood. All the world's ugliness stems from its malice, And yet, it also desires godhood. This claim exists in every carnal soul, but It manifested itself clearly in Pharaoh.
