رفت سوی آسیائی بوسعید
آسیا را دید در گشتن مزید

ساعتی استاد آخر بازگشت
با گروه خویش صاحب راز گشت

گفت هست این آسیا استاد نیک
چشم نامحرم نمیبیند ولیک

زانکه با من گفت این ساعت نهان
کاین زمان صوفی منم اندر جهان

در تصوف گر تو رنجی میبری
من بسم پیر تو در صوفیگری

روز و شب در خود کنم دایم سفر
پای بر جایم ولیکن در گذر

گرچه میجنبم نمیجنبم ز جای
میروم از پا بسر از سر بپای

میستانم بس درشت از هر کسی
میدهم بس نرم و میگردم بسی

گر همه عالم شود زیر و زبر
نیست جز سرگشتگی کارم دگر

لاجرم پیوسته در کار آمدم
کار را همواره هموار آمدم

همچو من شو گر تو هستی مرد کار
ورنه بنشین چون نداری دردکار

کار او پیوسته اندر جان نشست
یک نفس بی کار مینتوان نشست

او چو میداند که کار از بهر اوست
گر برای او بخون گردم نکوست

English translation

Abu Sa'id went towards a mill, He saw the mill increasing in its turning. He stood for an hour, at last he returned, He became a sharer of secrets with his group. He said, "This mill is a good master, But the uninitiated eye cannot see it, Because it said to me secretly just now, 'At this time, I am the Sufi in the world! If you endure hardship in Sufism, I am enough as your elder in the practice of Sufism. Day and night I continually travel within myself, My foot is in place, yet I am passing through. Even though I move, I do not move from my place, I go from foot to head, from head to foot. I take in very coarse things from everyone, I give very soft things and I turn a lot. If the whole world turns upside down, My work is nothing but bewilderment. Therefore, I am continuously engaged in work, I am always smooth in the work. Become like me if you are a man of action, Otherwise, sit down, since you do not have the pain for action.'" Its work continuously settled into the soul, One cannot sit idle for a single breath. Since he knows that the work is for His sake, If I turn into blood for Him, it is good.
