پادشاهی دختری دلبند داشت
هر دو عالم وقف یک یک بند داشت

هر سر موئیش خونی کرده بود
سرکشان را سرنگونی کرده بود

عاشقی آتش فشانش اوفتاد
شور در دریای جانش اوفتاد

بیقراری کرد در جانش قرار
از میان خلق آمد با کنار

عاقبت چون طاقت او طاق شد
پیش آن مه پارهٔ آفاق شد

فرصتی جست و ز عشق جان خویش
شمهٔ برگفت با جانان خویش

گفت اگر نبود وصالت رهبرم
میندانم تا که جان آنگه برم

دخترش گفتا اگر میبایدت
کزوصال من دری بگشایدت

یک جوال ارزنم در ره بریخت
نه بقصدی بود خود ناگه بریخت

سوزنی برگیر و یک یک دانه پاک
از سر سوزن همه برچین ز خاک

چون جوال این شیوه پرارزن کنی
بامن آنگه دست در گردن کنی

مرد عاشق سالها با سوزنی
برنچیدست ای عجب یک ارزنی

گر نکرد از سوزن ارزن در جوال
درجوالش کرد آن زن از محال

وی عجب این مرد با سوزن بدست
جان بخواهدداد و جای آنش هست

English translation

A king had a beloved daughter Both worlds were devoted to every single bond of hers Every tip of her hair had spilled blood She had overthrown the rebellious ones A fiery lover fell for her A tumult fell into the sea of his soul Restlessness took residence in his soul He withdrew from the midst of the people Finally, when his patience was exhausted He went before that piece of the moon of the horizons He sought an opportunity and about the love in his soul He spoke a little to his beloved He said, 'If your union is not my guide, I do not know where I shall take my life then.' The daughter told him, 'If you require That a door of union with me be opened for you: A sack of my millet spilled on the path It was not intentional, it spilled suddenly Take a needle and, cleanly, every single grain Pick up all from the dust with the tip of the needle When you fill the sack with millet in this manner Then you may put your arms around my neck.' The enamored man for years with a needle Has not picked up, oh wonder, a single grain of millet Even if he did not put millet into the sack with the needle That woman put him in a sack of impossibility And oh wonder, this man, with a needle in hand Is willing to give his soul, and it is fitting for him.
