Section 4 - The Tale and the Parable

Original content

English translation

The son of Adham, who had a heart ecstatic, Had nearly a hundred grey horses in his stable. Although the capital of his rule was Balkh, Balkh became corrupted, meaning it became bitter. His sweet soul, which was full of reverence, Found the heart of Balkh, for he was Ibrahim. When the grief of poverty came upon him, he became joyful; When he saw poverty, he became free from all. Although they adorned the face of religion through him, He went to the bathhouse, and they demanded silver from him. At the door of the bathhouse, he immediately fell down, Like a bird without wings and feathers. He said: 'Since in the house of Satan, I have no authority with empty hands, How is it possible to enter the house of the Merciful for free? It cannot be, it cannot be, it cannot be.' When Adam saw what the business is, He turned away from the world and wept tears of blood for a lifetime. If you too are his child, weep blood; Do not be less than a cloud, weep more than a cloud. Weep blood, for there is no greater act than weeping, Since the water of the eyes fell like the blood of a martyr. If the narcissus of your eye brings a drop of dew, Your honor will become cash for the whole world. The drop of your tear in yearning and passion, Will extinguish the fire of hell by force. Whatever you take from here is yours; Good and bad are your pain and your remedy. Take provisions from here, for you are of Adam's essence, So that you may take to the other world what you carry from here.
