بر شره میخورد مجنونی طعام
شکر حق میگفت شکری بردوام

کای خداوندی که جان و تن ز تست
شکر تو از من طعام من ز تست

تو طعامم میفرستی ز آسمان
شکر من بر میفرستم هر زمان

میفرست اینجا فرو هر دم طعام
تا منت بر میفرستم بر دوام

واسطه این قوم را برخاستست
قول ایشان لاجرم بس راستست

چون نمیبینند غیری جز مجاز
جمله زو شنوند و زو گویند باز

English translation

A madman was eating food greedily, He was constantly giving thanks to God. Saying, 'O Lord, from whom comes body and soul, Thanks to You is from me, my food is from You. You send me food from the sky, I send up my thanks at every moment. Send down food here every moment, So that I continually send up thanks to You.' For this group, the intermediary has been removed, Inevitably, their word is very true. Since they see no other except as illusion, They hear everything from Him and repeat it to Him.
