چون تجلی بر رخ موسی فتاد
شور ازو در جملهٔ دنیا فتاد

هرکه را بر رویش افتادی نظر
پیش او در باختی حالی بصر

چون تجلی از رخش پیدا شدی
هرکه دیدی زود نابینا شدی

گرچه میبستی ز هر نوعی نقاب
همچنان میتافتی آن آفتاب

گر نهان بودی رخش گر آشکار
می ربودی دیدهها را برقرار

رفت سوی حضرت و گفت ای خدای
چون کنم با این رخ دیده ربای

دیده و سر در سر این شد بسی
می نیارد دید روی من کسی

امرش آمد از خدای ذوالجلال
کآنکه در شوری کند ناگاه حال

پس بدرد خرقهٔ در شور عشق
بی سر و بن گم شود در زور عشق

گر ازان خرقه کنی خود را نقاب
برنیاید زآن نقاب آن آفتاب

گر به شور عشق نیست ایمان ترا
این حکایت بس بود برهان ترا

گر ازین مجلس ترا یک درد نیست
در ره او شور و سودا خرد نیست

اهل سودا را که هستند اهل راز
هست با او گه عتاب و گاه ناز

ناز ایشان ذرهٔ در قرب حق
بر جهانی زاهدی دارد سبق

English translation

When the manifestation fell upon the face of Moses, A clamor fell from him into the entire world. Whosoever's gaze fell upon his face, Lost their sight in that very moment. When the manifestation appeared from his face, Whoever saw it quickly became blind. Though he would bind every kind of veil, That sun still continued to shine. Whether his face was hidden or manifest, It snatched away the stability of eyes. He went toward the Presence and said: O God, What shall I do with this eye-snatching face? Many eyes and heads have been lost in this, No one dares to see my face. A command came to him from God the Majestic: That one who suddenly falls into a state of ecstasy, Then tears the garment in the fervor of love, Becoming lost without beginning or end in the force of love, If you make a veil for yourself from that garment, That sun will not emerge from that veil. If you do not have faith in the fervor of love, This story shall be sufficient proof for you. If you do not have a single pain from this assembly, The fervor and passion in His path is not small. The people of passion who are the people of secrets, Sometimes have reproach and sometimes have playfulness with Him. Their playfulness is a tiny particle in the proximity of Truth, It takes precedence over a world full of ascetics.
