دعوئی بد صوفی درویش را
سوی قاضی برد خصم خویش را

صوفی آن دعوی چو کرد آنجایگاه
بینت را خواستش قاضی گواه

رفت صوفی ودل از بند آورید
در گواهی صوفئی چند آورید

قاضیش گفتادگر باید گواه
برد ده صوفی دگر آنجایگاه

باز قاضی گفت ای مرد مجاز
صوفیان را می میار اینجا فراز

زانکه هر صوفی که با خود آوری
یک تنند ایشان اگر صد آوری

چون عدد نبود میان آن گروه
دو گواه آور نه زان آن گروه

کاین گروهی اند چون یک تن شده
وز میانشان رسم ما و من شده

هر که یک دم اوفتاد این جایگاه
تا ابد جاوید برخیزد ز راه

نام او از هر دو عالم گم شود
همچو یک شبنم که در قلزم شود

English translation

A Sufi dervish had a claim, He took his adversary to the judge. When the Sufi made that claim there, The judge asked him for proof and a witness. The Sufi went and released his heart from bonds, He brought a few Sufis to testify. The judge told him, 'Another witness is needed.' He brought ten other Sufis there. Again the judge said, 'O man of metaphor, Do not bring Sufis forward here. Because every Sufi you bring with yourself, They are one body, even if you bring a hundred. Since there is no multiplicity among that group, Bring two witnesses, not from that group. For this is a group that has become like one body, And from among them the custom of 'we' and 'I' has departed. Whoever falls into this place for a moment, Will eternally arise from the path forever. His name will be lost from both worlds, Like a single dewdrop that falls into the ocean.'
