بر سر منبر امامی رفته بود
گرم گشته این سخن میگفته بود

کو خداوندیست بی چون و چرا
هرگزش بر دامن آن کبریا

از مذلت ذرهٔ ننشست گرد
نه نشیند نیز کو پاکست و فرد

بیدلی را این سخن آمد بگوش
بانگ بر زد گفت ای جاهل خموش

زانکه خود گرد مذلت گر رواست
دایما بر دامن آن کبریاست

این همه خاکی نمیبینی مدام
تا ابد گرد مذلت این تمام

دامن آن کبریا کرده بدست
کرده چون گردی بران دامن نشست

آدمی را هست همچون حق یکی
نیست حق را همچو خویشی بیشکی

لاجرم مردم همه در کار اوست
منتظر بنشستهٔ دیدار اوست

English translation

An Imam had ascended the pulpit, Growing fervent, he was speaking these words: "He is a Lord without 'how' or 'why', Never upon the skirt of His Grandeur Has a single mote of the dust of abasement settled, Nor shall it ever settle, for He is pure and unique." These words reached the ears of a mystic, He cried out, saying: "O ignorant one, be silent! For if indeed the dust of abasement is permissible, It is always upon the skirt of that Grandeur. Do you not constantly see all these earthen ones (mortals)? Until eternity, all this dust of abasement, Has laid hold of the skirt of that Grandeur; It has settled like dust upon that skirt. Man has only one like the Truth, The Truth undoubtedly has none like Himself. Therefore, all people are absorbed in His affair, Sitting in anticipation of His vision."
