بوعلی طوسی ز عشق آشفته بود
همچو آب زر سخن میگفته بود

عاقبت چون روز بس بیگاه شد
گفت دردا کاین سخن کوتاه شد

زانکه روزی را که شب در پی بود
لایق این حرف هرگز کی بود

صبر باید کرد تا روزی تمام
در رسد کانرا نباشد شب مدام

English translation

Bu Ali Tusi was overwhelmed by love, He was speaking words like liquid gold. Eventually, when the day became very late, He said, 'Alas, this speech has been cut short, Because a day that is followed by night, How can it ever be worthy of this conversation? One must be patient until a complete day Arrives, which has no constant night.'
