رهبری بودست الحق رهنمای
میهمانی خواست یک روز از خدای

گفت در سرش خداوند جهان
کایدت فردا پگه یک میهمان

روز دیگر مرد کار آغاز کرد
هرچه باید میهمان را ساز کرد

بعد از آن میکرد هر سوئی نگاه
پیش درآمد سگی عاجز ز راه

مرد آن سگ را براند از پیش خوار
همچنان میبود دل در انتظار

تا مگر آن میهمان ظاهر شود
هدیهٔ حق زودتر حاضر شود

کس نگشت البته از راه آشکار
میزوان در خواب شد از اضطرار

حق خطابش کرد کای حیران خویش
چون فرستادم سگی را زان خویش

تا تو مهمان داریش کردیش دور
تا گرسنه رفت از پیشت نفور

مرد چون بیدار شد سرگشته شد
در میان اشک و خون آغشته شد

میدوید از هر سوئی و میشتافت
عاقبت در گوشهٔ سگ را بیافت

پیش او رفت و بسی زاریش کرد
عذر خواست و عزم دلداریش کرد

سگ زفان بگشاد و گفت ای مرد راه
میهمان میخواهی از حق دیده خواه

اینکه از حق میهمان میبایدت
دیده در خورتر از آن میبایدت

زانکه گر یک ذره دیدارت دهند
صد هزاران ساله مقدارت دهند

گر نداری دیده از حق دیده خواه
زانکه نتوانی شدن بی دیده راه

English translation

There was a leader, a true guide indeed, Who one day asked God for a guest. The Lord of the world spoke to his heart, "Tomorrow at dawn a guest will come to you." The next day the man began to work, He prepared everything needed for the guest. After that he looked in every direction, A helpless dog came forward from the road. The man drove that dog away in contempt, Still, his heart remained in waiting, Hoping that the guest would appear, And the gift of God would be present sooner. No one, of course, appeared on the road, The host fell asleep out of distress. God addressed him, saying, "O you bewildered by yourself! When I sent a dog of My own For you to host, you drove it away, So that it left you hungry and repelled." When the man awoke, he was bewildered, He was immersed in tears and blood. He ran in every direction and hurried, Finally, he found the dog in a corner. He went before it and wept profusely, He asked for forgiveness and resolved to comfort it. The dog opened its tongue and said, "O man of the path, If you want a guest from God, ask for vision. Since you need a guest from God, You need a vision more fitting for that. Because if they give you a single atom of vision, They will give you the worth of a hundred thousand years. If you do not have vision, ask God for vision, Because without vision, you cannot traverse the path."
