Section 8 - The Tale and the Parable

Original content

English translation

Among the enemies, an ancient elder Said to a friend, 'O sweet-spoken one! Why are all these people constantly sorrowful, Having abandoned joy and stricken with mourning? I see their sorrow is mostly enduring because of this: Why, in the end, does the Generous Lord Constantly do all that He Himself desires, And does not fulfill what the people need? Even if the call for a single deed arises from a hundred people, Unless God wills it, the deed will not come right.'
