Section 9 - The Tale and the Parable

Original content

English translation

Over a grave, a woman was weeping profusely. A madman asked her, "What is this weeping for?" She said, "My eyes are wet and my heart remains sorrowful, For this young one of mine who remains under the dust." He said, "You are in the dust; he is not in the dust, For now he is nothing but the pure light of the soul. As long as he was in the body, his place was the dust; When he died, he was freed from the dust and was pure. Although the body has no value before the Friend, The Joseph of the soul is in His special sanctuary. Since the rank of the soul was to the utmost degree, He admonished Noah because of it."
