مفتئی را دید آن پرهیزگار
بر در سلطان نشسته روز بار
فتوئی پرسید ازو مرد حلیم
گفت این چه جای فتویست ای سلیم
مرد گفتش بر در شاه و امیر
هم چه جای مفتیانست ای خرده گیر
English translation
That pious man saw a mufti Sitting at the sultan's door on the day of audience. The gentle man asked him for a fatwa; He said, 'What kind of place is this for a fatwa, O simple one?' The man said to him, 'At the door of the king and emir, What kind of place is this for muftis as well, O fault-finder?'
