سایلی پرسید از آن دانای پاک
کاخرت چیست آرزو در زیر خاک

گفت آنجا بایدم جان در میان
در میان جان جمال حق عیان

چشم از هر سویم آورده درو
بی تشوش رویم آورده درو

تا قیامت همچنان خوش مانده
بی خبر از آب وآتش مانده

گر دمی این زندگی میبایدت
پای تا سر بندگی میبایدت

بندگی از خود شناسی شد تمام
نیست مرد بی ادب صاحب مقام

English translation

A questioner asked that pure wise man, What is your ultimate desire beneath the earth? He said, 'There my soul must be centered, In the center of the soul, the beauty of the Truth made evident. My eyes from every direction focused on Him, Without anxiety, my face turned to Him. Remaining joyful in this state until the Resurrection, Unaware of water and fire. If you desire a breath of this life, From head to toe you must be in servitude. Servitude is completed through self-knowledge, A man without spiritual courtesy has no station.'
