آن یکی در پیش شیر دادگر
ذم دنیا کرد بسیاری مگر

حیدرش گفتا که دنیا نیست بد
بد توئی زیرا که دوری از خرد

هست دنیا بر مثال کشتزار
هم شب و هم روز باید کشت و کار

زانکه عز و دولت دین سر بسر
جمله از دنیاتوان برد ای پسر

تخم امروزینه فردا بر دهد
ور نکاری ای دریغا بر دهد

گر ز دنیا دین نخواهی برد تو
زندگی نادیده خواهی مرد تو

دایما در غصه خواهی ماند باز
کار سخت و مرد سست و ره دراز

پس نکوتر جای تو دنیای تست
زانکه دنیا توشهٔ عقبای تست

تو بدنیا در مشو مشغول خویش
لیک در وی کار عقبی گیر پیش

چون چنین کردی ترا دنیا نکوست
پس برای دین تو دنیا دار دوست

هیچ بیکاری نه بیند روی او
کار کن تا ره دهندت سوی او

English translation

That one, in the presence of the just Lion, Condemned the world excessively, indeed. Haydar said to him: 'The world is not bad; You are bad, because you are far from wisdom. The world is like a farmland; Both night and day you must sow and work. Because the glory and fortune of religion, entirely, Can all be gained from the world, O son! Today's seed yields fruit tomorrow, And if you do not sow, alas, what will it yield? If you do not carry religion from this world, You will die without having truly lived. You will forever remain in grief; The task is hard, the man is weak, and the path is long. Therefore, the best place for you is this world of yours, Because the world is your provision for the hereafter. Do not become occupied with yourself in the world, But in it, prioritize the work of the hereafter. If you do so, the world is good for you; So for the sake of your religion, hold the world dear. No idle person will see His face; Work, so that they may grant you passage to Him.'
