Section 8 - The Tale and the Parable

Original content

English translation

A certain man mixed a lot of water into his milk, God Almighty decreed a fate for his cow. When she came and lowered her head to the water, In an instant, a flood carried the cow away. Whatever he had gathered a hundred times over, The water carried it all away at once. Since he added more water to the milk than before, It gathered and drove the cow before it. Whoever holds the thought of death for even a moment, How could they make oppression their profession? When I think of dying from time to time, The world turns black before my eyes. But there is a time when, from the joy of death, I dance, as vibrant as a green leaf. Because I know that in the end, the pure soul Will once again be freed from the prison of earth.
